944 Cup Series

For 20 seasons, the 944 Cup Series is dedicated to the front engine water-cooled Porsche, featuring competitive and affordable racing with a year-end 944 Cup Regional and National Championships. The series includes 3 classes: SP1, SP2, and SP3.

Front-engine water-cooled Porsche cars from the 924S, 944, 951, and 968 models.  A turn-key ready to race Porsche can be purchased to race in the series for under $10,000.  Read more about the model 944 on Wikipedia or check out the series forum here.

The 944 Cup features two chapters: the East and the West Coasts.

Collectively the series covers over 30 tracks including some of the best and historic locations in North America.   Such places as Watkins Glen, Road America, COTA, Daytona, Sebring, and Road Atlanta to name a few.

Most front-engine Porsches racing in PCA, SCCA  and NASA are eligible to participate in the PCA 944 Cup Series.  Most often your SCCA or NASA logbook will allow you to obtain the required PCA logbook credentials to race with us.  Don’t have a PCA race license?  We will help you get that too.  Have an active comp license from another club?  Most often that allows you to get a PCA license.  Just click on PCA License for directions on how to apply.  Need a race-prepared Porsche 944?  Browse through the Series classified ads to find one that suits you.

No 944 Cup membership or annual dues are required to race in the Series!  All you need is the 944 Cup windshield banner and you’re ready to race with us.

More information is available on the series website or send an email to 944cup@pcaclubracing.org.

Regional Champions

Each year, the 944 Cup series crowns two Regional Champions: one for the East Region and one for the West Region.  Points are collectively earned throughout the racing season on a regional PCA Club Racing level.  At the end of the year, 944 Cup Regional Champions are decided based on the best 13 race point totals for each racer in all point-scoring races for the year.  A racer must successfully complete a minimum of 7 race starts in point-scoring races to be eligible to win a 944 Cup Regional Championship.

Winners of each class for each region in the 944 Cup series are listed in the tables below.
